Department of Malayalam

The Department of Malayalam is the youngest department in the college. A group of excellent teachers who loves research and have deep passion in language and literature, together with the energetic students, made able to evolve the language teaching with the changing needs of the time.

Department of Malayalam functions based on higher aims and objectives. Students should have a deep knowledge of the development of the Malayalam language and literature from its inception to the present day. Students must have a deep understanding of the unique strengths of Malayalam and the cultures assimilated from the world literature. Since 1975 Along with the beginning of the college, the Department of Malayalam was also started with Malayalam as additional Language.

In 2018, post graduate course in Malayalam started. In 2023, the department is upgraded as research department.
