Department of Computer Science
Computer Science is one of the thrust areas in Science and Technology. The department of Computer Science is established in the 1998. The department offers minor course in Computer Science. The department has a fully furnished Computer Laboratory with ICT facility.
The practical classes for computer science are conducted in this lab. Students are taught about computer fundamentals , Networks& DBMS, data analysis using MS Excel & SPSS and programming skills using Python.
Students are preparing digital presentations using Microsoft Powerpoint and LibreOffice Impress. They are presenting their seminars using ICT facilities. Pictures of students handling ICT classes is attached herewith.
During Covid Pandemic, the students, who studied Computer Science received placement in multi National IT companies such as Wipro and Infosys. The details the students are given below:

The department promotes students to present papers in National and International conferences along with financial assistance. The paper presentation details are given below
1. Kevin K. Moony, II B. Sc. Mathematics, 2018-21 batch presented a paper on “Design of an Automated Street Light Control System” in the Directorate of Collegiate Education sponsored, one day National Seminar on “BIG DATA AND IOT” on 20th November 2019 conducted by KKTM Government College, Pullut.
2. Alan James, II B. Sc. Mathematics, 2021-24 batch presented a paper on “Artificial Intelligence for Accessibility” in the Two-Day International Conference on “DEEP DIVE INTO DATA SCIENCE” organised by the Department of Computer Science, Vimala College (Autonomous), Thrissur
The department organised a seminar on “Awareness on Cyber Security and Cyber Threats” on 13.09.2023 colloborating with Cyber Police, Irinjalakkuda
The department jointly organised a DCE sponsored National Seminar along with Post Graduate Department of Mathematics on the topic “MATH COMPUTING” on 26th October, 2018
The department conducted Centralised Valuation Camp for the under graduate courses of B. Sc. Computer Science, B. Sc. Information Technology and BCA of Calicut University in the year 2020-22. The camp was conducted for even semesters such as VI Semester, IV Semester and II Semester UG.
