The Department of Mathematics is a thriving community of dedicated teachers, diligent researchers and devoted students, sharing the enthusiasm for Mathematics. As one of the basic science departments, the department remains as the fulcrum of teaching that offers many foundational mathematics courses for the students of PANAMPILLY MEMORIAL GOVERNMENT COLLEGE, CHALAKUDY.

The department of Mathematics is established in the year 1998. The undergraduate programme in Mathematics started in the same year. In 2012, post graduate programme in Mathematics, M.Sc. Mathematics started. In 2022, the department is uplifted as a research centre.
