The centre is working with the financial assistance of the University Grants Commission envisioned with equipping and preparing students who belong to Scheduled Castes & Scheduled Tribes, Backward and Minority Communities to appear and qualify the National Eligibility Test (NET) for the selection of lecturers and JRF. At Panampilly, the Centre has organized rigorous crash training programmes to that effect with special emphasis on the papers I and II of the UGC Examination by mobilizing experienced faculties from within the university and outside. Three batches with 50 to 75 students each have been trained with flying colours. Four students of the centre have qualified NET and one SC student has qualified JRF in the previous examinations. 75 students from various subjects offered by the college have been enrolled for NET Examination June 2013. So far 16 classes on General paper and 10 classes on concerned subjects have been conducted.
