National Seminar on “Emerging Trends in West Asia: Implications for India”

The National Seminar on “Emerging Trends in West Asia: Implications for India” was jointly conducted by the Indian Institute of Public Administration Kerala Regional Branch, Thiruvananthapuram and the Department of Political Science, Panampilly Memorial Government College, Chalakudy, on 29th January 2025. Dr. G. Radhakrishna Kurup, Secretary of IIPA, Kerala Regional Branch presided over the inaugural session. Dr. Suresh. K, Head of the Department of Political Science, delivered the welcome speech. The programme was inaugurated by Sri. Albert Antony, Vice-Principal of the College at the College Seminar Hall.

National Seminar on Human Rights and Contemporary Indian Democracy: Challenges and Concerns

The Department of Political Science organized a Two Day National Seminar on “Human Rights and Contemporary Indian Democracy: Challenges and Concerns” on 6th and 7th January 2025 at seminar hall, Panampilly Memorial Government College, Chalakudy, Thrissur. The Seminar was inaugurated by Dr. J Prabhash, Professor and former Pro -Vice Chancellor of University of Kerala. He inaugurated the Seminar and key note address on the topic of “Artificial Intelligence , Imagination and Human Rights in Contemporary World with Special Reference to India”. Next technical session started from 11.35am to 1.00 pm on the topic of Constitutional Provisions and Atrocities against dalits” delivered by Adv. Pretheep Kumar P K, High Court of Kerala.

Dr. Nandakishor M.S, Associate Professor, Department of Political Science and International Studies, Pondicherry University spoke onThe Challenges to Development of Democracy and Democratic Development in India through google Meet. Dr. Abhayachandran K, Assistant Professor, National University of Advanced Legal Studies, Kochi, interact with the audience on “Judicial Interpretations and Social Justice: A Pathway to Fulfilling Constitutional Objectives?”. Dr. Abhilash Kumar K G, Assistant Professor, Baby John Memorial Government College, Chavara, Kollam on Environmental Rights: Issues in India”. The valedictory session started on 2pm. This session was inaugurated by Dr. Shaju K. S, Principal, PMGC, Chalakudy. The valedictory address was Shri. Saneeshkumar Joseph, Hon’ble MLA, Chalakudy. He spoken on Indian politics has been plagued by corruption for decades.
