Meeting with District Collector

A group of 20 students of UG and PG and  representatives from various departments of our college had the unique opportunity to meet and interact with the District Collector, Sri Arjun Pandyan, at his chamber. The event was organized as part of an initiative to inspire and guide IAS aspirants in the college. Two faculty members in charge of the College Union accompanied the students.
During the meeting, Sri Arjun Pandyan gave an insightful account of an administrator’s duties as a District Collector. He shared his personal experiences and highlighted the multifaceted responsibilities involved in governance, such as disaster management, law and order maintenance, development planning, and public service delivery.
He also emphasized the importance of leadership, integrity, and dedication in the role of a civil servant. His candid interaction provided students with a realistic view of the challenges and rewards of public administration. The Collector encouraged the aspirants to develop analytical thinking, stay updated on current affairs, and remain committed to their goals.
The students were inspired by his journey and practical advice on preparing for the IAS examination. The session ended with a lively Q&A session, where students posed thoughtful questions about the role of civil servants in addressing local issues and contributing to national development.
The meeting was a valuable learning experience, leaving the participants motivated and better informed about the responsibilities and impact of a District Collector.
